I didn’t really have a specific craving for anything in particular for lunch yesterday… 😞
So, I decided to try the “Hokkaido Melon Soft Serve” from Seicomart—something I’ve been really curious about for a long time. 😋
The supermarket I frequent occasionally puts this soft serve on sale; I’d been waiting for the right moment, and I finally managed to get my hands on it! ✨
*As it happens, they were holding a “Hokkaido Fair” featuring deli items, bento boxes, and other foods, so I imagine that’s why it was back in stock. 😊
It contains 8% Hokkaido melon juice… This was my first time trying Seicomart’s melon soft serve. 😍
As soon as I opened the plastic lid, I was greeted by the aroma of melon… One bite, and it was packed with melon flavor… Two bites, and the melon taste was even more intense… Although it’s a milk-based ice cream, the balance between the melon and the creamy milk flavor was perfect—it was a truly satisfying treat. 😋
I was very satisfied. 👍

・For lunch today, I went to MOS Burger—a place I’ve been really curious about! ❣😶👯
I finally tried the “Limited-Time Gooey Tsukimi” (Moon-Viewing) burger from MOS Burger for an early lunch—something I’ve been eyeing since last week. 🥰
It’s the “Tsukimi Focaccia” that launched today! The long-awaited “Tsukimi Focaccia”… 😋
I finally caved and had it for an early lunch—a burger absolutely packed with cholesterol! 😆
The focaccia is wonderfully chewy (I imagine if you eat in, you can enjoy the freshly toasted surface too). The U-shaped sausage is—as it looks—a coarse-ground sausage just like “Schau Essen.” (⋈◍>◡<◍)。✧♡
It has a smoky aroma that really whets the appetite. However, I felt the taste was less greasy than standard Schau Essen and truly delicious. Usually, just one Schau Essen sausage gives me heartburn, but I was able to eat the MOS sausage all the way through without any trouble. 👍😋
As for the star of the show—the “Gooey Tsukimi” (egg)—it’s not just soft-boiled; it is seriously runny and gooey, so be careful when you take a big bite! It tends to ooze out the sides. 😝 Then there’s the cheese sauce that ties it all together; personally, I found it to be a rich, addictive sauce.
In short, this “Gooey Tsukimi” is just… soooo delicious! 😋
I ordered a medium size for the fries, but I ended up completely stuffed.
Mmm… had a delicious meal right in the middle of the day! ❣
*By the way, I have no affiliation with MOS Burger whatsoever. These are just my honest impressions as a consumer. 🤣

Up until yesterday, it really had been a stretch of cold days… 💦 👯
It’s been raining non-stop in Tokyo this week, but when I opened the front door and the balcony window to air out the room…
It was freezing!😨☔
It’s so sudden… even with the low-pressure system… it feels like the chill of early winter…
It’s cool when the weather is bad, but up until yesterday, it had actually turned quite cold 😫 I wonder what’s happening to Japan’s four seasons…
Although Japan is already taking on an autumnal feel… it is cloudy again today, though not with heavy rain clouds—rather, it is a bright, overcast sky. Humidity has risen, too, making it feel muggy and stifling…
Commuting to work or school in weather like this is such a drag, isn’t it? 😢 Of course, if you’re indoors, you could just turn on the AC… but honestly, it feels a bit conflicted turning it on first thing in the morning.
Where did the cool morning air go? 🥺

There is one limited-time item right now that has really caught my eye…
It’s the MOS Burger “Tsukimi Focaccia,” launching on Wednesday, September 9th!
I’m so intrigued… I can’t stop thinking about it… 🤤
To eat or not to eat—that is the question… but that golden cheese sauce… it looks like a total cholesterol bomb, doesn’t it? 😆
I’m imagining just how happy I’d be if I really went for it and ate one… 😋
Will September 9th end up being a cheat day for me…? ❓❓❓

Is it going to be another scorching day? It was already incredibly hot outside this morning… 💦 👯
The other day was the scheduled day for collecting waste paper, so I took some cardboard to the collection point around 7:00 AM. The heat was already beating down so intensely it felt as though the sun had reached its midday peak—even though it was only seven in the morning…
While good weather is generally a positive thing, this is just too extreme 😫 I wonder what the future holds for Japanese summers…
It reminded me of my childhood, when summer vacation lasted until August 31st and teachers would tell us to do our homework during the cool morning hours. Nowadays, however, the mornings are already sweltering…
It’s truly disheartening to have to commute to work or school in conditions like this 😢
Of course, I could just turn on the air conditioning, but I have mixed feelings about switching it on first thing in the morning.
Where have the cool mornings gone? 🥺

The other day, I was wondering what to have for lunch. I’d been eating a lot of light meals lately, so I was craving something meaty—but the thought of actually cooking felt like such a hassle…
So, I opened up the freezer!
Time to check out my trusty frozen food stash—my lifesavers for moments like this. 😝 Let’s see… lots of noodles: spaghetti, soba, abura-soba (oily noodles), udon… Oh, karaage (fried chicken)! …Nah, that’s not quite what I’m in the mood for. Then, something caught my eye: a “Demi-glace Sauce Hamburg Steak.” I’d completely forgotten I’d bought this Heinz frozen meal! Score! 🤩
This was the winner! I decided to serve it over rice with a fried egg on top—a Hamburg steak rice bowl. 🥰
The instructions… hmm, okay… just heat it in hot water. Bring the water to a boil, then let it sit for about 8 minutes.
Alright, I took the piping-hot frozen demi-glace Hamburg steak and placed it right onto the rice. Then, I added the two fried eggs I’d prepared separately.
The rich color and aroma of the demi-glace sauce, combined with the thick, juicy patty, really whetted my appetite. 💓
Time to dig in… I sliced into the patty with my fork, and the juices just flowed out… Chomp—took a bite.
W-wow…! I don’t mean to be rude, but this was so good that I thought, “Honestly, this might even be tastier than a Hamburg steak at a family restaurant!” I was genuinely impressed. 👀
The quality is amazing… When did frozen food get this good? 😭
I devoured it in no time flat—lunch was over before I knew it. 🤭
My stomach was practically cheering with delight… Thank you, frozen food! You’re a true hero!
I’ll definitely be relying on you again! 😆
It was a thoroughly satisfying lunch. 🍳

August 9, 2026 (Sun): Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony for Atomic Bomb Victims
Today, I’ve decided to change things up and focus solely on this blog post…
[81 Years Since the Atomic Bombing of Nagasaki] Today marks the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Victims Memorial Peace Ceremony.
At 11:02 AM on August 9th, the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki… 81 years have passed since that day.
Six days after that tragedy, the end of the war was declared in Japan on August 15, 1945—the day of the Imperial broadcast announcing the surrender.
The tragedy repeated itself in Nagasaki just three days after the bombing of Hiroshima, and the war ended six days later.
I find myself wondering: Was the dropping of the atomic bomb truly necessary? Could the war not have ended without it? Was there really no other way?
When I think of the many victims who endured suffering far worse than death itself due to nuclear weapons, I cannot help but ask myself these questions every year at this time.
I am a second-generation atomic bomb survivor; half of my genetic heritage traces back to Nagasaki City.
In Nagasaki, despite the sweltering heat and the approach of Typhoon No. 15—which is not expected to impact the event—the Peace Memorial Ceremony is proceeding as scheduled at 10:45 AM in front of the Peace Statue at Peace Memorial Park.
Today, the people who can share firsthand memories of that time—the storytellers—are all 86 years old or older; consequently, it is becoming increasingly difficult year by year to hear those precious, direct accounts of their experiences.
I want to believe that the continuation of this ceremony over the years serves as a powerful deterrent against nuclear weapons.
At the same time, I hope that the tragic reality of those days continues to be shared with the world, fostering a renewed appreciation for the value of peace.
I offer my deepest condolences to the people of Nagasaki. Just before the live stream of the “Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony for Atomic Bomb Victims” begins at 10:45 today, we plan to observe a moment of silence at 11:02—the exact time the atomic bomb was dropped—as we do every year.
A vow for peace: “Never again.” We pray that the abolition of nuclear weapons becomes a reality as soon as possible.

As for the author’s values and philosophy…
I will set forth my own views here, fully prepared for the possibility of a backlash.
While I can empathize with the political aspects of the tragic events of that time, I do not harbor any lingering resentment regarding the subsequent relationship between Japan and the nations it fought against.
I believe this stems from the mindset my father—who personally experienced the devastation—instilled in me during my childhood. His perspective was as follows: ① The reality of the atomic bombing is absolutely unforgivable. ② As a defeated nation, Japan faced postwar policies that rendered the assets left by my paternal grandfather virtually worthless and led to the confiscation of property—events that caused my father great indignation at the time. ③ However, it is also a fact that the intervention of the victorious nations in defeated Japan paved the way for the country as it exists today, enabling the development and growth achieved during the era of rapid economic expansion.
Guided by the principle that “we must not forget the tragedy inflicted upon us, yet we must not harbor eternal resentment toward the victors,” I have continued to learn and reflect on these matters myself, and I fully subscribe to my father’s view.
That said, there are those who did not experience the atomic bombing firsthand yet feel angry that Japan simply accepted the end of the war after being attacked; some even question, “Why didn’t we strike back?”
Personally, however, I believe that the mentality of “striking back when struck”—whether by a nation or an individual—creates a volatile situation that could easily trigger a conflict, effectively repeating the grave error of war.
While pride certainly has its place, I believe that becoming fixated on winning or losing, or holding onto lasting resentment and hostility toward the other party, creates a dangerous trigger that could lead to future tragedies.
It is often said that “history repeats itself,” and indeed, there have been many instances where this has proven true. Yet, while some situations may be beyond our control, I believe that as human beings capable of shaping events through our own thinking, it is far more important to learn from history.
This represents my personal values and philosophy. I am aware that some may find this perspective disagreeable. For those who hold different views, the situation could well become contentious, making it difficult to build smooth relationships.
However, I believe that the ultimate destination—our shared vow and wish for peace—is surely the same. We cannot hope for national tranquility if we, as fellow citizens, are in conflict with one another.
But please, never forget… the people who suffered because of nuclear weapons. The people who wept endlessly.
I earnestly hope for a world where it becomes the norm for no country and no individual to suffer harm…
Well, I’ve taken a bit of extra time today to share my personal thoughts with you. I am taking a break from creating the usual T-shirt designs—the ones I make with the hope that they will warm your hearts when you see them.😊
From next time onwards, we hope to return to our usual routine and share designs that bring smiles and a sense of warmth to everyone!😊

Just have to endure the dental treatment… but it’s turning out to be quite an ordeal… 😭 👯
I went for a routine dental checkup the other day. I had a cavity that had been treated previously—but I’ll skip the backstory on that.
The dentist gave me this diagnosis: “If you still feel any discomfort or a throbbing pain in the treated area after two weeks… unfortunately, we’ll have no choice but to remove the nerve. But hey, at least you’ll be able to chew properly later on.”
And just like that, I was immediately given an anesthetic injection. What’s more, the injection took ages—it lasted about three times longer than usual! 😵
I was on edge, wondering when the needle would finally come out… It felt like they were poking right at the root of the tooth itself. 😰
When I went to rinse my mouth, my heart was pounding visibly, and my right hand—holding the cup—was shaking uncontrollably. It was the first time in my life I’d ever reacted to anesthesia like that…
Doctor… aren’t you perhaps a little too eager to remove the nerve?
Whirrrrr… Screeeech…
Rumble-rumble… Rumble-rumble… Rumble-rumble…
“Next, I’m going to shave this part down a bit… 😊” Scrape-scrape-scrape… Grumble-grumble…
My body stayed completely rigid and tense the entire time…
The only saving grace was that I didn’t feel any pain during the actual nerve-removal procedure (which, at that stage, is less “medical treatment” and more just brute force), so I didn’t have to raise my hand to signal pain. Then again, in my experience, even when the dentist tells you to “raise your hand if it hurts” and you actually do, they often don’t end up doing anything about it anyway… 😢
Afterward, the dentist said, “Once the anesthesia wears off, you’ll probably feel some throbbing or a dull ache, so I’ll prescribe some painkillers… 😊” …Ah, here we go again…
It’s starting already… that dull ache… the anesthesia is wearing off. It’s throbbing… I need to do something about this pain first… Even though it’s lunchtime, I have absolutely no appetite 😔 I’m going to take a painkiller (Loxonin) now 😢 After all, I want to be able to enjoy my meals… 😓
Right now, I feel like…
…like that female dentist sucked every last bit of life force right out of me… 😭
<Image:Original AI Digital Art>
I’m sure many of you have had a rough time at the dentist, too… 😊 I still have more appointments ahead of me, and even when I feel like giving up, I have to see it through to the very end… 😢 After all, it’s not just celebrities who need to take care of their teeth; our teeth are incredibly important to us, too!
Now, let’s get to the main topic. I’ve created the T-shirt design shown below, hoping it will make for a heartwarming day for everyone who sees it. What do you think? I would be delighted if it brings smiles and a sense of warmth to you all!

By the way… traditional Japanese phrases like Setsu-getsu-ka (snow, moon, and flowers) and Kacho-fugetsu (flowers, birds, wind, and moon) have such a lovely ring to them, don’t they? 🤗 They are words that capture the beauty of Japan’s natural scenery and the evocative atmosphere felt within it…
Setsu-getsu-ka expresses the beautiful changing of the seasons, while Kacho-fugetsu depicts the seasonal landscapes and backdrops that symbolize Japan’s “four seasons”… and notably, both phrases include “flowers” and the “moon” ✨ They possess a beautiful sound unique to the Japanese language.
Today, I would like to share the story behind why I chose “Kazuki” as my handle name. I hope you will stay with me until the end.🙏
The origin of this flower’s name spreading to Japan lies in Taiwan; it is not a flower unique to Japan.
It all started when I propagated a Gekka Bijin (Queen of the Night) from a leaf cutting I’d brought home from my parents’ house. One moonlit night, as it gradually unfurled and burst into full, magnificent bloom, the flower’s intensely mystical fragrance left an indelible mark on my heart. Captivated by that image of a “scent beneath the moon,” I named the fragrance based on the Gekka Bijin itself—a flower with blossoms as large and radiant as the moon.
It took four long years—from cutting a single leaf into thirds and planting it in the soil to finally seeing it bloom—but I was so overjoyed that I gazed at it constantly until the petals wilted, much like one might fondly admire a beloved from afar🤭
A fragrance beyond comparison to even the costliest perfumes—an aroma that drifts on a different plane, at once radiant and refined… a scent known only to those who have truly experienced a flower in full bloom…
<Image:Original AI Digital Art>
There is something so admirable about its resolve—revealing its beautiful form for just one night, when no one might even be there to see it… releasing a fragrance to make its existence known for that single night, pouring all its energy into that moment and the lingering scent left behind… and then quietly withering away unseen. For some reason, I am deeply drawn to the life of the Gekka-bijin.
It is a flower that possesses humility and understated grace, never flaunting its beauty. Yet, for those who discover its form, it instantly captivates the heart—leaving behind a powerful impression and a sense of passion in the span of a single night, before vanishing with a quiet strength of will.
A large, beautiful, and mysterious white flower… I will likely remain captivated by her for the rest of my life.
Incidentally, people around me had warned me that the success rate for growing Gekka-bijin from cuttings is lower than that of the Kujaku-saboten (Orchid Cactus); I had heard that buds aren’t guaranteed to form and that the process often takes more than four years. In that sense, I was lucky. 🥰There are no other colors of the Gekka Bijin (Queen of the Night); it comes only in white.
Even now, when I look up at the full moon on a moonlit night, the fragrance of the Gekka Bijin—the Queen of the Night—seems to drift faintly on the air…
I’m also grateful to have been praised for doing an excellent job, especially for a beginner. 😊 Moving forward, I want to continue my blog and activities in a way that lives up to this beautiful name.
Is there a “flower of sentiment” in your heart—a memory or feeling you never want to forget—that stays with you even now?
Now, let’s get to the main topic. Hoping to make your day a little warmer and more heartwarming, I’ve created a T-shirt with the design shown below. What do you think? I hope it brings a smile to your face and fills you with a warm feeling! 😊

A trip to the dentist… and a sleeping giant wakes up? 👯
Yesterday was my regular weekly dental visit. I had a cavity treated with anesthesia a while back, but the permanent crown hasn’t been put on yet—I’ve just had a temporary one—and it had been throbbing a bit.
When I mentioned this, the dentist said, “It was quite deep… so today I’ll apply the medication again and see how it goes. Depending on the progress, we might end up having to remove the nerve.”
I wouldn’t mind having the nerve removed if it meant no pain… but that would mean getting anesthesia again… Just how many times do I have to get injected? 😭
Since there wasn’t any other specific treatment to do after that, we went ahead with a cleaning. But… the area that was already awaiting treatment became incredibly sensitive during the cleaning—it felt just like the pain of a cavity…
It was bearable, so I planned to just take some painkillers I had at home and wait for my next appointment, but thankfully, it feels a bit better today.
I’ve also been getting frequent headaches lately and just haven’t been feeling quite right these past few days. I really want to get this whole dental saga over with soon. 🥺

This T-shirt features a design—rendered in a style reminiscent of watercolors and colored pencils—of a Siberian Husky that looks unapproachable at first glance but is actually incredibly kind-hearted.
It is recommended as loungewear for your days off, for those who share their lives with a beloved Husky, and for anyone who wishes they could have a Husky by their side but is unable to own one due to their circumstances.
I always have a bit of fun—perhaps a little self-indulgently—wondering what kind of artwork to share with you next! 😂
I hope these images bring a heartwarming feeling to your day; I am rooting for your emotional well-being with all my heart. 💓
I post to my blog irregularly, but I would be delighted if you kept coming back to visit regardless!
