チョッと「つぶやき…」
・先日の定期通院で…👯
先日、シルバーウィーク前の18日(金)に予約を入れていた通院で内科に健康診断の結果と、月一の処方箋を取りにいったのですが…
受付を終えて、見まわして開いていた長椅子に座ったのですが、ふと疑問が🤔
まだ午前中の10:30前で、且つ予約枠の兼ね合いもあり、然程混んではいなかったのですが、ただ、椅子は結構埋まりつつある患者さんの数でした。
長椅子や中央のオットマンタイプのチェア以外にも、簡易的なパイプの丸椅子が5つ程配置されているのですが、、、丸椅子が埋まっていて、長椅子が歯抜け状態…
座席に座って人間ウォッチしていると、大半が空いていた長椅子(一人席を繋げて長椅子にしている)の椅子と椅子のつなぎ目の間に座る若い子がちらほら…
そういう場合に限ってスマホに夢中になっていたり、持っている鞄を椅子に座らせていたりなどなど。
その結果、ちゃんとした位置に座っている人との間に中途半端な空きが…
混んでくると、詰めてくれるの(かな？)かも知れませんが、何故そういう座り方をするのかな…と個人的に疑問が…人の側に近寄るのが嫌なのかなぁ…しらんけど…
でも、初めから詰めて座っていたら、丸椅子に座っている高齢方々が遠慮せず、背もたれのある快適な椅子に座れる筈なんだけどなぁ。と、悶々として、診察室から名前を呼ばれるのを待っておりました。
体型に差が出る事自体はしょうがないのです、どうでもいい拘りですが、なんか、こう、釈然としない今日この頃です😓(1つの椅子は結構広め)
電車の中でもありますよね、そういう残念な光景、、、
日本もどんどんマナーが悪くなりつつある気配です😔

I’ll murmur just a little…
・During my regular check-up the other day… 👯
The other day—Friday the 18th, just before the long weekend—I visited the internal medicine clinic for a scheduled appointment to review my health checkup results and pick up my monthly prescription.
After checking in, I looked around and sat on an empty bench, but a question suddenly crossed my mind.🤔
It wasn’t particularly crowded—it was before 10:30 AM, and the appointment schedule kept the flow steady—though the waiting area was filling up with patients.
In addition to the benches and the ottoman-style seats in the center, there were about five simple round folding stools set up; interestingly, the round stools were occupied, while the benches had gaps where people had left empty seats between them.
As I sat there people-watching, I noticed a few young people sitting right in the gap where two individual seats joined together on the bench—even though there were plenty of open seats available.
Invariably, these were the same people who were engrossed in their smartphones or had placed their bags on the seat next to them.
The result was an awkward, unusable gap between them and the person sitting in the proper position.
I wondered if they would scoot over once it got crowded—I don’t know—but I couldn’t help questioning why they chose to sit that way. Perhaps they just dislike being close to others?
If they had simply sat in the proper position from the start, elderly patients using the folding stools could have felt comfortable moving over to the more comfortable seats with backrests without hesitation. That’s what I was thinking as I sat there, feeling a bit frustrated while waiting for my name to be called.
Of course, differences in body size are unavoidable, and this is a trivial gripe, but it’s something that’s been bothering me lately. (The individual seats are actually quite wide.)
You see that sort of disappointing behavior on trains, too, don’t you?
It feels like manners in Japan are steadily going downhill. 😔
